The age old adage “to err is human” could be the basic reason why we test. Everyone commits mistakes and hence the mistakes need to be identified and corrected before it gets too late. Knowingly or unknowingly every one of us perform testing regularly. We inspect properly before buying anything. We make sure that what we are buying is actually what we want. Which is a right thing to do.

With the onset of consumerism and industrialization testing has become particularly very important to remain in competition. Testing as a matter of fact improves quality. That’s why it’s also referred to via various names viz. “Quality Assurance” , “Quality Control”. Testing has found a synonym in Quality in today’s world.

Testing in the software world has evolved over the years. From the time when the testing was done solely by developers to today’s world when there are various expert independent teams to perform testing.
